The course focuses on the area of central and eastern Europe and relations between states located within the region and Russia in terms of energy supplies. The region poses a geographically coherent area of states that have a long history of energy-related ties to Russia, be it in terms of infrastructure, development of the energy sector or actual supplies. The course is aimed on explanation of the most important patterns in the energy sectors of respective countries in the context of political, historic and economic relations towards Russia. Attention will be paid also to other states with strong historic and infrastructural ties to Russia in South-eastern Europe.
The course focuses on sectors of natural gas, oil and nuclear energy as the aforementioned ties can be traced especially in these sub-sectors.
